Last week at the Indian grocery store I purchased atta instead of maida. Atta is wheat flour with Indian feel. It’s nicely powdery and the only thing I made until know was a simple flat chapati to accompany my scrambled egg breakfast. Today I made muffin with atta and they turned out in a beautiful brown color, softly moistured and really tasty.
How to make Muffins with Atta:
Mix the following ingredients:
- 2 Cups atta
- 2 Cups brown sugar
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp baking powder
Mix these ingredients in a new larger bowl and add the dry ingredients above to this mixture:
- 3/4 cup water
- 2/3 cup oil
- 3 mashed bananas
Pour the soft and liquid batter into the oven. My glass oven requires about 1 hour at 150 degrees. The result is just lovely. Long life to Atta from India!
